For those of you too far away, here are a few pictures of the wedding. These were all taken by friends and family but I will add a few of the professional shots (with the photographer's permission) after we get the album back.

The wedding ceremony was held at 11am on March 22nd at First Presbyterian Church of Austin and we had a reception for friends the following Saturday at home.

The pictures below show my bachelor's cake (an American tradition that hasn't made it across the Atlantic yet) and also a surprise guest at the wedding. My friend John, who now lives in Moscow, turned up unexpectedly on the morning of the wedding. He had a business trip to Dallas the following Monday and came early to gatecrash the event (without telling me though my best man had been warned !).

After the ceremony we went to the Emerald Restaurant (definitely not to be recommended, drop me a line for more details) for a small family reception after which Ian (looking sheepish here as he tries to hide the can of shaving cream) decorated our car. The bonnet is covered in whiped cream but he discovered that the Texan heat caused it to run so he shifted over to the shaving foam for the windows.

A couple of guests of honour - Taryn, Nikki's niece, was our flower girl and did a wonderful job. Taryn's mum, Lari (centre) and Naomi were our bridesmaids and they are photographed here with Klaus, the person who is responsible for the whole thing (in a manner of speaking) since he introduced Nikki and me back in early 1996.

The final two photos show Nikki's sisters at the reception the following week Special thanks goes to Thanh for prescribing me enough antihistamines to get through the day. It turned out that the "allergy" was actually glandular fever (or "mono" to the Americans) but the drugs were enough to prevent me from needing to spend the day in bed !
